A 3x48"x36" triptych gallery wrapped acrylic painting. This mixed media collage painting depicts the Qu'appelle Valley and the three lakes Mission Lake, Katepwa Lake and Echo Lake with in it. The gold leaf horizontal line represents the light shining off the lakes at sunset. The blue vertical lines represent the “Living Skies” and the yellow vertical stripes are the sun’s beams. The contrasting blue fluid lines represent the water. In the distance you can see the Qu'appelle Valley covered in saskatoon berries. The large flower beadwork canvas collages are traditional floral beadwork designs of the Metis. This is the Valley where my family migrated to after being forced off their land in St. Boniface.
